Giffin, Inc. hosted members of the Assistance League of Southeastern Michigan (ALSM) team for a check reveal presentation on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at its headquarters in Auburn Hills, Michigan.
With a deep passion for community, the Giffin team specifically chose the ALSM for its 2023 Giffin Gives Back holiday fundraising efforts. Through various activities, team events, and a generous donation from the Giffin family, Giffin surpassed its fundraising goals – raising a total of $26,278 benefiting the ALSM Operation School Bell program.
“The Assistance League is a national organization with many local chapters. We raised funds for the Southeast Michigan chapter,” said Dominic Ventola, Giffin Vice President Operations. “This is a 100% volunteer organization that funds many programs in our surrounding communities. Their signature event is Operation School Bell, which distributes necessities to kids in low-income areas right here in the greater Detroit area.”
Giffin’s passion for community is emulated by the team and their efforts annually. The Giffin team chose to support the ALSM mission of transforming the lives of children and adults through community programs – and has been a supporter for the last two years.
Every dollar raised by the Giffin team will 100% support the ALSM Operation School Bell (OSB) program. The OSB program has impacted more than 64,000 lives since 1995 and Giffin is a proud supporter of this effort.
Giffin volunteers will join ALSM volunteers again in October 2024, as they did last year, for the ALSM Operation School Bell distribution event at a designated school – location to be determined.
“The day was so fulfilling, and the Giffin team’s efforts were so impactful, that we once again decided to support this charity for our 2023 Holiday fundraiser event and again at the 2024 Operation School Bell distribution event,” said Ventola.
Last year’s event left a lifelong impact on Giffin’s volunteers and supported nearly 400 local students – with ALSM volunteers and the Pontiac Mayor Tim Greimel also in attendance. The Giffin team looks forward to seeing the impact of their efforts at work again later this year.
The team is proud to know that every hat, coat, set of gloves, books and other essentials purchased for Operation School Bell are in part because of the valiant Giffin Gives Back fundraising effort that took place in 2023’s year end.
