Giffin is seeking an energetic, self-motivated Electrical & Controls engineer to join our expanding Electrical team. The Electrical Controls engineer will be responsible for managing Automotive and General Industrial Paint Finishing projects as it relates to Process, Conveyor, and Robotic Automation controls. In this role, you will be working closely with the Giffin Design/Mechanical engineering teams, overseeing Electrical installation and Controls subcontractors, conducting meetings with the Customer, and reporting project status to Giffin management.
The selected candidate shall be well organized, have strong problem-solving skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, be productive without direct supervision, and can travel approximately 20% to local and out of town jobsites.

Duties: plan, schedule, control, and coordinate electrical engineering and controls aspects of engineering projects for automotive paint finishing manufacturing processes.
Review customer project specifications and conduct design review meetings and field conditions checks. Review and approve electrical schematics, PLC logic, and HMI graphics.
Participate in customer equipment functionality validation and acceptance activities. Develop scope of work for controls and electrical installation subcontractors.
Create and modify company electrical engineering standards and maintain ISO/QOS company documentation requirements. 30% domestic travel to customer sites.
Requires Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a closely related field and two years of experience as an Electrical Controls Engineer, Controls Engineer, or similar. Experience must include two years of experience with each of the following: using GuardLogix, ControlLogix, RSLogix 5000, and Studio 5000 Logix Designer to design industrial automation processes; automotive paint equipment functionality in manufacturing; applying NFPA 33, NFPA 86, and NEC to industrial manufacturing processes; and PLC and HMI configuration for automotive paint finishing manufacturing control processes.
