Designer

Designer position for industry leader in large commercial / industrial metal finishing projects. Typical projects include automotive and aerospace conversion coating and paint finishing systems. This position will require technical design of HVAC and piping systems.

An associate’s degree or a related equivalent experience is required for this position. Experience with commercial / industrial grade ventilation, heating and cooling systems, and process piping is required. Senior Designer shall have a minimum of 5-7 years’ process experience. Proficient in Autodesk including AutoCAD 2D, AutoCAD 3D, Autodesk Inventor and Navisworks. Skilled in sizing ductwork and piping. Solid math background. Able to select pre-engineered/designed equipment from catalogs and use properly in design package. Review all applicable designs and drawings for general layouts, detail design, approval, certified, and ‘as-built’ designs.

The position will encompass the following activities:

• Take ownership of specific items for specific projects.
• Maintain current, accurate drawing list for assigned package and update Design Team.
• Secure all data required to produce accurate drawings.
• Attend project meetings as required.
• Periodically inspect shop fabrication for conformance to design and quality.
• Perform field measurements when necessary.
• Conduct periodic review of progress made in field installation process.
